Therma-Tru® Receives 2010 Best in Class Award
Lumber/Building Material Dealers Recognize Entry Door Leader

MAUMEE, Ohio, Oct. 12 - PRNewswire - Therma-Tru, the U.S. leader in residential entry doors, recently received the 2010 Best in Class Award (BICA) in the category of Fiberglass Exterior Doors. Presented by the LBM Research Institute based in Lakeville, Minn., the BICAs honor outstanding building product manufacturers nationwide in comparison studies to competitive companies.

In an online survey of 268 lumber/building material dealers conducted in July, Therma-Tru stood out as the best exterior fiberglass door among 17 national and regional brands in the areas of brand value, consistent quality and energy efficiency.

The BICA survey is unique because it draws unaided responses. Participants are asked to choose top-performing companies in a variety of categories without prompting or multiple choice options. Survey respondents ranked companies based on criteria such as timely delivery of products, knowledgeable sales personnel, effective marketing support materials and overall satisfaction with product delivery.

"Claiming to be the best is one thing; having recognition by customers is another," says John Cashmore, executive director of the LBM Research Institute. "Therma-Tru clearly recognizes the importance of creating start-to-finish quality products and services for their customers. This award recognizes their excellence and serves as a goal for other companies."

"We are pleased to be recognized by our dealers for delivering what's most important to them," says Heather Sonnenberg, director of product management for Therma-Tru. "This award is a powerful endorsement of our industry leadership, commitment to quality and strong fabricator partnerships."

This is the first year that the LBM Research Institute has sponsored the BICA program. The exterior door winners are recognized in the September 2010 issue of LBM Journal. The LBM Research Institute plans additional BICA surveys in the categories of windows, roofing, siding and lumber.

Vinyl windows - a true story about excellence
Monday, September 13 2010

The goal for most Canadian families is to keep their house warm in the winter and cool in the summer, while keeping all energy costs as low as possible. With vinyl windows this goal can be reached. Ostaco’s specially designed multi chamber vinyl combined with LowE glass create a barrier to heat transfer. Vinyl windows can help lower your costs and increase your energy efficiency.

Vinyl windows are designed and welded to create maximum strength and protection against all weather conditions. Vinyl windows have been tested and proven to outperform aluminum and wood windows, because of their excellent thermal performance of the frame. It’s simple, really warm air stays indoors during the winter months and cool air stays indoors in the summer months.
